Fort Lauderdale Beach is a long island formed by the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. It is reached by crossing one of several draw bridges. Starting at the Fort Lauderdale Beach Park and heading north along the main boulevard is a low, white wavy wall separating the sand from the walkway. This boardwalk is perfect for strolling while people watching. When you are ready for the shops, hotels and restaurants, just cross the street.
