An 1884 photograph called, “Wah Chong family outside laundry business on Water Street” from the book “Saltwater City” was the model for this mural on Columbia Street in Chinatown in downtown Vancouver, Canada. It’s one of a series that celebrates the Chinese people in Vancouver during 1884, 1936 and 1905. The artist, Arthur Cheng, was born and educated in Beijing and also does sculptures, statues, garden art and portraits.
