It is a somber boat ride from Pearl Harbor out to the USS Arizona Memorial. This building is where the battleship was sunk by the Japanese on December 7, 1941. After crossing the gangway, you enter a room overlooking the remains of the submerged ship. The names of the 1,177 crew who died on the USS Arizona are inscribed on a marble wall in the shrine room. Most of the servicemen are still buried below the sea.
