South Beach is renowned for its fabulous Art Deco architecture. The Old Miami Beach Historic District contains over 800 of these beautiful buildings. Most were built during the late 1920s and into the 1940s. Among the most striking is St. Moritz Tower on Collins Avenue. This classic, white high-rise built in 1939 has spectacular views of the beach along the Atlantic Ocean. It is one of two buildings that comprises the Loews Miami Beach Hotel.
