After Astronaut Alan Bean walked on the moon in late 1969 as part of Apollo 12, and later was the commander of the Skylab space station, he began painting his experiences like this spacewalk wall mural in the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame in Titusville, Florida, called, “Reaching for the Stars.” Interestingly, while creating over 100 paintings, he includes a sprinkle of moon dust and pieces of the Apollo 12 spacecraft into each one and often uses his lunar boots as a paint brush.
