Arthur Chang painted this mural called “Seated Men on Corner in 1936” on Columbia Street in Chinatown in downtown Vancouver, Canada. The inspiration was a 1936 photo from the city archives of similar Chinese men sitting in front of the Sam Kee building, the world’s narrowest building at 58 inches wide. It’s one of a series that celebrates the Chinese people in Vancouver during 1884, 1936 and 1905. Mr. Cheng was born and educated in Beijing and also does sculptures, statues, garden art and portraits.
