So much of central Sydney is dominated by high-rises. The beautiful exception is the Chinese Gardens of Friendship at Darling Harbour. This attraction is the essence of ancient tranquility and charm. The lotus ponds are filled with swimming koi. The water is encircled by weeping willows, bamboo, cedar trees and sculptured limestone walls. Nestled among this gorgeous setting are traditional pavilions such as (left to right): Lenient Jade Pavilion, Peace Boat Pavilion, and Teahouse Pavilion.
