Parham Harbour in Parham, Antigua

Parham is a quiet community with a population of about 1,500 people. Historically, the town bustled with activity. During the peak plantation era – from the mid-17th century until the end of the 19th century – Parham Harbour was Antigua’s primary port and often called the Gateway to the Caribbean. The top exports from this large, natural bay were sugar and molasses, a byproduct of the sugarcane process. Parham is located a few miles south of V. C. Bird International Airport. The island’s main airport opened a new terminal in 2015.
