Pacific Green Sea Turtle Mural in Manta, Ecuador

This almost cartoonish mural in Manta, Ecuador, is a Pacific green sea turtle, whose scientific name is Chelonia Mydas. Assuming they make it safely to the water after hatching, they can live up to 80 years. The male typically grows up to five feet long and 150 to 420 pounds. They live mostly in tropical areas in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Females have been known to swim up to 1,600 miles to return to their birthplace to lay their eggs every two to four years.
