18 Ole Bull Fountain in Bergen, Norway

This fountain is a tribute to Ole Bull. He was a famous virtuoso violinist during the 19th century. On top of the monument is a statue of this native son playing the violin. He is surrounded by a rectangular pond with stepping stones that children love to play on. At the base of the fountain is this sculpture of a skald playing a mythical harp. Skalds were Scandinavian poets who sang songs for kings from the Viking Age (800 to 1066 AD) through the 14th century.
