Old Town (Staré Město) was established during the 9th century as a walled-in settlement. Beginning in the 10th century, Old Town Square was the epicenter for merchants. Today, Staroměstské náměstí is the heart of tourism east of the Vltava river. This 4.2 acre plaza is encircled with history. The next several photos will introduce you to some of the major landmarks.
