2 Old Town from Puente Nuevo in Ronda, Spain

During Ronda’s almost continuous occupation by the Muslims from 713 until 1485, the city was confined primarily to a mount on the east side of the Guadalevin River and the El Tajo Canyon. This Old Town called La Ciudad still contains numerous historic landmarks. The first edifice you reach on the left when crossing the Puente Nuevo is the former Convent of Santo Domingo. It was built in the 16th century on a Muslim structure after they were banned from Andalusia. Since 2005, it houses the Palacio de Congresos (equivalent to a convention center).
