Most of St. Thomas’ Northside coast is developed but the rare exception is Mandahl Bay. You will need a local expert to bring you to a dirt road, walk through dense mangroves and pass a salt pond before reaching this isolated beach. I promise you will be the only person there. But this precious area is threatened by the proposed construction of a hotel and marina so you’d better visit it soon if you want to experience the unspoiled Virgin Islands.
