This central prang or tower at Wat Arun has multiple tiers of colorful porcelain and seashells. There is also a staircase ascending toward the corn-shaped pinnacle. The spire was built in the mid-19th century. The design is patterned after Cambodian architecture from the Khmer Empire several centuries before. The Temple of Dawn is located on the Thonburi side of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok.
