This blue Victorian mansion has been a landmark in Carlsbad since it was built in 1887 by Gerhard Schutte. After 1919, it became an inn, then a restaurant and now a surf shop. Notice the ghost in the window? It was Halloween so this decoration is understandable, but apparently the mansion is haunted with frequent paranormal sightings near the secret room and the trap door leading to the tower.
