Above the entry of the Monastery of St. John the Theologian is a mosaic of the namesake. Alternative names include John the Divine and John of Patmos. He authored the Book of Revelation. The last book of the New Testament proclaims his apocalyptic vision of the disasters signaling the end of time and the second coming of Jesus.
