This courtroom was built in 1860, making it the oldest county courthouse in Florida. This room is where all judicial and government activities were performed until 1866 for the people who lived within 5,000 square miles. The one-room building was moved to the Manatee Village in 1975 and restored to its near original appearance. Next door is the Manatee Methodist Episcopal Church which was built in 1887.
