Although the Principality of Monaco is a separate sovereign country, it is bordered on three sides by France and is protected by their military. Monaco is also considered to be the eastern end of the French Rivera. However, most of the Mediterranean coast that is called Côte d’Azur is in France where you’ll find several wonderful resort towns like Nice, Éze, Cannes and Saint-Ràphaël.
