The list of famous people who performed at the Riviera reads like a who’s who in entertainment since the hotel and casino opened as the first high-rise on Las Vegas Boulevard South in 1955. The Marx Brothers and Dean Martin once owned minority interests. Unfortunately, the old dame lost its luster and star appeal as so many grand hotels and casinos were added further south on the Las Vegas Strip. The property was closed in 2015 and then imploded during the summer of 2016.
