In shape contrast to the small, historic and charming towns encircling the Bay of Kotor, a new development in Tivat is appealing to the social elite and their superyachts. In 2006, Canadian businessman Peter Munk purchased an abandoned 19th century naval shipyard and began creating Porto Montenegro. When it is finished, the marina will have 650 berths. 150 of them will accommodate personal ships up to 500 feet.
