The Dolby Theater, originally called the Kodak Theater, is a relative newcomer to Hollywood Boulevard. But starting in 2002, the year after it was built, the theater has laid down the red carpet for arriving Hollywood’s stars during the Academy Awards’ Oscar night. Other famous broadcasts from the auditorium include “American Idol,” Miss USA pageant and the Daytime Emmy Awards.
