Another of Melbourne’s magnificent Victorian parks is Fitzroy Gardens. Clement Hodgkinson also created this grid-shaped landscape with its peaceful paths during the mid-19th century. Gardner James Sinclair transformed the former swamp into a woodland lined with weeping willows, shade trees and flower beds. Fascinated by horticulture? Outside is the Diana and the Hounds Fountain sculpted by William Leslie Bowles in 1940.
