The forerunner of the Cinderella story is disputed before Cendrillion was created in 1697 by Frenchmen Charles Perrault. Another version called Aschenputtel was written by Jacob and Wilhem Grimm in 1812. Walt Disney created his rendition of the romantic fairytale in a 70 minute animated film released in 1950.
