The bonnet lilies floating in this pond were the inspiration for the name Bonnet House, the former estate of Frederic Bartlett in Fort Lauderdale. Perhaps that is not surprising because when he married his second wife Evelyn, her last name was Lilly. The thatched building is a pedestrian bridge called Chickee. This scene on the museum property could have inspired Claude Monet to create an impressionist painting.
