Next stop was El Floridita, the hangout of Ernest Hemingway for twenty years when he lived in Cuba. Once named the world’s best bar, the joint was packed. This tavern on Calle Obispo has been serving libations since 1817. A century later, the bar became so popular among Florida tourists it was renamed El Florida and eventually El Floridita. Ernest Hemingway was a regular from 1932 until 1960.
