Yet the flawless blue sky and warm sunshine were powerless to bring joy or comfort or hope. She was hypervigilant while tourists snapped photos of Moshulu, the world’s oldest four-masted sailing ship. This famous ship was named Kurt when forged in Glasgow in 1904. The vessel hauled grain, coal and lumber for multiple owners. In 1917, the barque was seized by the US Navy and renamed Moshulu by President Woodrow Wilson’s wife. Since 1975, the 59-foot-long sailing ship has been a restaurant offering American cuisine at Penn’s Landing.
