A nickname for Los Angeles is “The City of Angels” so it seems appropriate that the largest Catholic church in downtown would share that name. At first glance, the modern cube design of the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels makes the 2002 building look like it belongs to the nearby performing arts halls. But then you see the cross on the top of the 333 foot, detached bell tower.
