This Carnegie Library in Bradenton, Florida, was one of 3,000 that were partially funded across the United States by grants from philanthropist Andrew Carnegie during the early 20th century. It opened in 1918 and was the city’s main library until 1978. The building, which is on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, now serves as Manatee County’s Historical Records Library. It contains local government data dating back to 1856.
