43 Cape Florida Light at Key Biscayne, Florida

The Cape Florida Light had a rich history before becoming part of the Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park in 1966. The lighthouse was built in 1825, attacked and burned by Seminole Indians in 1836 and was rebuilt in 1847. The beacon for helping ships to navigate the coral reefs was operated by a keeper until 1878. This 95 foot, white brick conical tower is now a popular attraction among tourists to Key Biscayne, Florida.
