19 Caiman Statue in Parintins, Brazil

Over 450 species of reptiles live in the Amazon Rainforest. The largest is an alligatorid crocodilian portrayed in this statue. The black caiman can reach 16 feet in length and weigh up to 2,400 pounds. The other five types of caimans indigenous to South America are smaller, averaging six to eight feet long.
