Walt Disney is best remembered for creating animated characters and amusement parks. He also had a passion for wild animals, especially from Africa and Asia. Therefore, he created a series of films called True-Life Adventures from 1948 through 1960. His vision was to recreate the same remote jungles from around the world when Adventureland opened at Disneyland in 1955. Remnants of its origin remain, such as the Jungle Cruise and Swiss Family Treehouse. Yet this section has evolved to include the Pirates of the Caribbean, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin and Tinker Bell’s Magical Nook.
